Invia is an Australian-headquartered IT Software-as-a-Solution provider for telecom operators in the B2BG and B2B2X segments that offers digital solutions which span the entire telco lifecycle. Invia joined us as a technology partner last year and is a platinum sponsor at the Bridge Alliance CXO Forum 2024. Our SVP for Partnership and New Business Ken Wee caught up with Jinner Tan, Invia’s COO of South-East Asia recently.
Ken: Hi Jinner and thanks for Invia’s support of Bridge Alliance. Invia’s clients are primarily in the telecom sector. Can you share with us recent telco industry trends you’ve observed?
Jinner: The telecom industry is undergoing a seismic shift, driven by rapid technological advancements, evolving consumer expectations, and intensifying competition. To succeed in this market, a telco needs to be nimble and disruptive.
The challenge of differentiation in a market where price and network parity dominate. The answer? Offer something unique and visible. There is an urgent need to experiment, innovate, and bring next-generation products to the market as quickly as possible.
The enterprise and government sector customers are the most demanding for a telco. Each of them has unique needs, but telcos usually offer them cookie-cutter products. The key to capturing this lucrative market is offering customized solutions – whether it is bundling third-party solutions with in-house products or providing APIs to ease communication requirements with their end users.
Ken: Invia has grown its business from Australia to India and Singapore. What is Invia doing to support the different needs of telcos in these markets?
Jinner: For telcos’ enterprise segment, a one-size-fits-all approach does not work. They also face the problem of the gap between their systems, and the agility to bring innovations to market quickly, while keeping their operational costs manageable.
Our products in fact run the gamut of the entire end-to-end life-cycle journey for enterprise customers such as tools to manage lifecycle and spend, eSIMs, CPaaS and much more. But to answer your question I’d like to highlight one enterprise offering: a personalised BSS solution to configure dynamic offers on the go, and this has a no change request guarantee, which means no unexpected costs for the telco customer.
The rise of e-SIMs and BYOX environments is disrupting the B2B market for telcos. Traditionally, telcos focused on employers, securing deals at the corporate level. It’s also important to shift from just employer-centric strategies to also focus on employees. We have a solution enabling telcos to move beyond just mobility and connectivity to include convergence, loyalty programs that recognize the individual employee, subscriptions, on-demand services, security, compliance, and productivity.
Our solution stack is modular, in a way is like Lego blocks—telcos can easily add features, integrate with their existing infrastructure, or plug into third-party systems. The key advantage is that we complement existing telco systems, rather than replace them. This makes our solution very scalable and cost-efficient.
We adopt a platform approach by enabling telcos to connect anything, add value, and integrate seamlessly with their existing infrastructure. This approach accelerates go-to-market strategies and empowers telcos to launch customized products.
Ken: What attracted Invia to join our Bridge Alliance’s Technology Partnership Programme? What are you hoping to achieve being our partner?
Jinner: With Bridge Alliance’s extensive footprint, we hope to also expand our reach among the world’s leading telcos and bring our intelligent SaaS solutions to a broader audience, to help them drive digital transformation, enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
We are excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Bridge Alliance and its member operators. This partnership will not only help us refine our existing solutions but also inspire us to create new ones, that push the boundaries of what’s possible in the telecom industry and disrupt the market.
