Syniverse has been a strong supporter of Bridge Alliance for many years and is our technology partner. Syniverse is also a Bridge Alliance CXO Forum 2024 diamond sponsor. Paul Hodges, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Syniverse shares with Bridge Alliance SVP Partnership & New Business Ken Wee his sentiments about the CXO Forum and Syniverse’s plans for 2025.
Ken: Hi, Paul. Great to see you again.
Paul: Hi Ken, it’s always a great pleasure to speak with the Bridge Alliance. Thanks again for the opportunity. As Ken mentioned, I’m Paul Hodges, Senior Vice President of Syniverse based in Hong Kong, looking after the Asia Pacific region. Firstly Ken, a huge congratulations! 20th anniversary of the Bridge Alliance, really a tremendous milestone. Syniverse is proud to have been a technology partner of Bridge for many years now.
Now we’re excited for this year’s CXO Forum to celebrate with you alongside Bridge Member Operators and industry senior execs. For me personally, this anniversary is really special as I’ve been associated, as you know, with the Bridge Alliance in previous roles for 17 of those 20 years.
Ken: I want to thank Syniverse for your continuous support and participation at Bridge Alliance CXO Forum. Has the CXO Forum been a rewarding experience for Syniverse?
Paul: Absolutely, yes. This forum has become a key annual event for our industry. In fact, all the Bridge Member Operators are close partners of Syniverse. We’re very pleased to be a diamond sponsor this year. Syniverse’s technology partnership with Bridge has covered a variety of roaming-related solutions over the years. And we look forward to increased collaboration in the years to come as we move forward to future services such as 5G Standalone (SA) roaming, increased IoT applications and to developments with AI technologies. A lot of exciting stuff to look forward to.
Ken: So what are the key trends that are shaping the mobile ecosystem?
Paul: At Syniverse, we’re very much attuned to the concerns and needs of the industry. For over 35 years now, Syniverse has been writing the standards for roaming, and we’ve built an unparalleled global IPX network and simplified business operations for hundreds of mobile operators across the globe. As a pioneer in the mobile industry, we partner with our customers to continually evolve the mobile networks and services.
In the CXO forum this year. I very much enjoyed sitting on the panel, discussing next generation consumer trends, examining key market drivers that are shaping the mobile ecosystem, and the ever changing dynamic between telcos and consumers.
Ken: What are the key projects Syniverse will likely to be engaging with telcos in the next 12 months?
Paul: At Syniverse, we’ve seen great success this year with our Evolved Mobility solution. It allows mobile operators with sunsetting 3G spectrum to continue to receive inbound roamers from legacy 3G networks with active deployments in several key Asian markets, and this will certainly continue into 2025. We’re assisting more and more mobile operators with VoLTE roaming rollout, and of course we’ll soon have the commencement of 5G Standalone (SA) roaming, with a whole new suite of 5G related services on the horizon for 2025.
So yes, a lot more to come for 2025 and beyond.
Ken: Paul, thank you so much for your time today. It was very nice talking to you.
Paul: Thank you again, Ken, for the opportunity. It’s always a pleasure to connect and I’m looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the Bridge team again very soon.
Ken: That was Paul Hodges, Senior VP at Syniverse. Thank you for watching ‘be’ in conversation.
