Mr. Jaeshin (Jason) Lee is a Senior Vice President at SK Telecom and Head of Corporate Development of AI CIC (Company in Company) and is credited with leading SK Telecom’s investment in Anthropic, global top tier LLM provider.
He also led SK Telecom’s investment in Perplexity, the Google rival in AI search, and spearheaded its entry into the Korean market through a strategic marketing partnership, contributing to a significant improvement in AI literacy among SKT customers.
Jason first joined SK Telecom in 2001 and has played key roles in several major M&A and investments deals. Jason continued his work in SK Telecom Ventures (Silicon Valley) and managed various investment portfolios in the field of ICT, semiconductor and healthcare. From 2017 onwards, Jason focused on the entertainment and media industry, closing several deals including with P Nation (PSY’s music label company) and Makeus (Dingo music platform).
Jason’s background in finance and investments provided him with an early look into the industry growth of online media and esports. In 2019, Jason established global esports joint venture ‘T1 Entertainment & Sports (T1)’ with Comcast Spectacor. As a sitting board member of T1, Jason has led T1’s esports success beyond Korea as well as into new business ventures for T1. He also led the 3-way telecom joint venture between SK Telecom, Singtel and AIS to create ‘Storms’, a gaming community platform.
He leads SK Telecom’s AI strategy and investment initiatives, driving the growth of Data Center and Physical AI businesses in collaboration with government bodies and global technology partners to establish Korea as a premier AI infrastructure hub in Asia.
Jason is a Syracuse University Alumni with a BA degree in Management and MS degree in Accounting.
